Pre-Fall 2012 : Jason Wu

For a pre-Fall collection, this offering from Jason Wu has a certain drama. It’s manifest in the perfectly stitched slim-cut pants which have front seams or knee panels that could be jodphur-like in their detailing, and yet don’t give off a jodhpur vibe. It’s manifest in leather collars and bunched-down leather gloves, a woman both feminine and darkly dangerous. And in the silhouettes of immaculately tailored pencil skirts and sheath dresses? There’s some drama there, too.

Wu’s pre-Fall 2012 collection draws reference from the ’50s, the ’60s and the here-and-now. The upcoming colour trends for fall 2012 make an appearance from emerald teal greens to pompeian red to deep Atlantic blue.

Switching effortlessly between cooly masculine and primly feminine, Jason Wu‘s pre-Fall 2012 collection brings the kind of modern, understated femme fatale drama that’s best worn with an ice-cool attitude.
